Football Homecoming Queen 2022

The Nettleton Homecoming Court was decided by votes of the student population, and a friendly competition within the student body. The most sought after and popular Homecoming Court position is the homecoming queen, whose role is as old as the tradition of Homecoming week itself. The Queen is meant to represent the student body as a whole and the definition of Raider Pride.

The Homecoming Queen of Nettleton High School as of 2022 is Jayden Turner, a girl with spectacular Raider Pride and a good concept of what community means to her. While Miss Turner wasn’t originally wanting to be Homecoming Queen and preferred the opportunity to be a maid, her explanation is that she would just prefer to be on the court instead of in the spotlight. Jayden is a sweet and kind person, a friend available to any student who needs it, and with all these amazing qualities, it’s no wonder she managed to gain the title of homecoming queen.

Miss Jayden Turner submitted a definition of Raider Pride to her, which she describes as “the adrenaline rush you feel when you're at a game or a pep rally. That feeling you get when you feel like you can’t sit down anymore, and you gotta do something. Raider pride is the love we share when we do the alma mater. Raiders pride is the excitement we get when someone makes a touchdown or when the ball goes into the rim, or even when the volleyball hits the floor. Raider pride is dressing out in our student section and sharing a laugh of how funny we look. Sure I could’ve said raider pride is family to me, but it’s deeper than that. “

An interesting things about Miss Turner is that she’s been on Homecoming Court before! During her tenth grade school year, she was on the court, but didn’t receive homecoming queen. She believes that being homecoming queen is setting a standard and a person other members of the student body can look up to and try to follow.

According to Jayden, being homecoming queen was an exciting experience, and her goofy personality had her dancing in her classroom. After the hype of Homecoming ended, she feels like she’s just gone back to being a normal student and returned to her life in Nettleton.
